Two 140T Truss Lift Saddles

For this project we were contracted to design and supply a pair of 140T lift saddles to support a 200T truss structure for a major mining project in Yorkshire. The goal was to provide a safe, tested lifting solution for a high-integrity structural lift during truss installation.

We led a true turnkey solution for this project, from concept to final delivery, working in collaboration with our fabrication division (Diamond Engineering), RSS Specialists (load testing), and our on-site division for the installation (Diamond Responsive Engineering)

For this project, we:

• Completed full design and engineering analysis, including FEA stress modelling and hand calculations
• Produced detailed GA and fabrication drawings for manufacture
• Load tested the saddles to 163 tonnes to validate design integrity
• Supplied the saddles fully certified and ready for site installation

This project presented an interesting challenge as the lift saddles had to interface precisely with the large truss geometry and handle significant load without distortion. Our FEA-driven design guaranteed optimal stress distribution and a safe, efficient lift on-site, ensuring a successful outcome and a satisfied client.
