Bespoke 40ft Container Design & Installation

For this unique and exciting project, we were asked to design a bespoke 40ft container to house electrolyser equipment for the production of high-purity hydrogen. The aim was to turn a conceptual design into a fully detailed and structurally sound solution, with a premium external finish to ensure a clean and modern appearance.

We led the true turnkey engineering package from concept through to final design, in collaboration with the Diamond Responsive Engineering division for fabrication and installation requirements.

For this project, we:

• Developed the client’s conceptual model into a detailed and buildable design
• Carried out structural calculations to validate integrity under operational loads
• Completed full manufacturing drawings for fabrication
• Designed and installed bespoke outer cladding to deliver an enhanced, high-quality aesthetic
• Provided technical support throughout build and installation phases

The main challenge with this project was that the container had to be both structurally robust enough to safely house heavy, vibrating electrolysis equipment and also visually refined as per the clients requirements. Achieving both required close coordination between engineering and detailing — particularly in integrating the cladding without compromising strength, access, or thermal performance.
